In front of the town of Gairanger is the Gairangerfjord, which is 15 km long. Gairangerfjord is called the pearl of the fjords. Gairangerfjord was designated as a World Heritage Site (UNESCO) along with Nærøyfjord in 2005. The main waterfalls in Gairangerfjord are KnivsflÅfossen, Seven Sisters Falls, and Friaren Falls. There are cruise tours in Gairangerfjord from Hellesylt to Gairanger and from Ålesund to Gairanger. Tourist attractions around Gairangerfjord include Gairangerfjord, KnivsflÅfossen Waterfall, Seven Sisters Waterfall, and Friaren Waterfall. |
